The Academy of Alchemy Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Academy of Alchemy app ("the App"). It complies with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and Apple's App Store requirements.

  • Account data: name and email address provided at registration.
  • Usage data: course progress, completed lessons, and session activity.
  • Device data: device type, operating system, and app version for diagnostics.

We do not collect precise location data, financial information (payments handled by Apple), or data from third-party tracking networks.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
  • To personalise your learning experience and track progress.
  • To send you service-related notifications and daily messages (where opted in).
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the following lawful bases: (a) performance of a contract — to provide the services you have signed up for; (b) legitimate interests — to improve and secure the App; (c) consent — for marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with trusted third-party service providers (such as hosting and email delivery services) strictly to operate the App. All processors are contractually bound to protect your data. We may disclose data where required by law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records for 7 years).

8. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the App. Go to the menu and select "Delete Account". This will permanently remove your account and associated personal data within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
